When Liesl showed her new fall patterns to the Advisor's Circle and asked if anyone wanted to add a ruffle to the Neighborhood Sweatshirt, I immediately volunteered. My daughter has always admired the sweater tops that had a soft ruffle added to the bottom and I thought this was the perfect opportunity to make one for her. I found a lovely lightweight sweater knit at JoAnn fabrics ( yes really) and a matching chiffon fabric. Gathering all the chiffon wasn't the most fun sewing experience, but I love the result. You can find some helpful tips on working with chiffon in this post. I also added a chiffon back bow at the neck to give this sweatshirt an extra romantic touch! You can find the full tutorial over on the Oliver + S blog! I love how different this Neighborhood Sweatshirt turned out compared to my Neighborhood Sweatshirt with the Shirt Tail Hem - two daughters, two very different styles, one great pattern! This is such a great and easy pattern. I hope you give it a try!
